Bangor Holidays – Take a fabulous holiday in historic Wales
Bangor is a cathedral city situated on Wales’ north-west coast, just miles from Snowdonia National Park, on the Gwynned/Conwy border and along the coast from Llanfairfechan and Penmaenmawr. The area is of spectacular beauty and great historic interest, with many monuments and buildings to visit – near Brynsiencyn, just 9 miles away on Anglesey, you’ll find Bryn Celli Ddu, a late Neolithic henge and burial chamber, and Castell Bryn Gwyn and standing stones. The castle was built in the Neolithic and Iron Ages and the stones are the tallest standing stones in Wales. Segontium Roman Fort at Caernarfon is thought to have been built in the late 70s AD and close by you can visit the Segontium Roman Museum. There are many other such sites of interest in north-west Wales – rent a woodland lodge or country cottage and explore the area.
