Bude Holidays

The small seaside town of Bude is a great choice for beach holidays in the UK that won’t break the bank. Bude is a pleasant, bustling town close to a number of large sandy beaches up and down the rugged Cornish coast. Rail access to Bude is not as convenient as some of its larger neighbours in the area, such as Newquay, and this makes it a less crowded option for a beach holiday in Cornwall. There are two beaches in the town of Bude itself, Summerleaze and Crooklets, as well as numerous other beaches in the wider area. Widemouth Bay, to the south of Bude, provides a long stretch of soft sand while Sandymouth Bay offers dramatic landscape and stunning cliff top views. The west coast is well known for its good surfing conditions and the beaches are well manned by RNLI life-guards making Bude a particularly good choice surfers and UK family holidays alike.

 

Bude’s convenient location on the border of Devon and Cornwall allows visitors to explore nearby areas of natural beauty and places of interest in both of these southern counties. As well as dramatic coastal walks, including the South West Coastal Path, there is plenty of countryside inland to explore on foot or by bike. Several nature reserves in and around Bude, such as Bude Marshes and Lundy Island, provide a peaceful day out for wildlife enthusiasts.
