Ravenglass, just a few minutes drive from Holmrook, is home to the Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway Museum as well as historic ruins of a roman bath house and fort. Muncaster Castle and Gardens nearby offers another taste of the region’s heritage and is a fantastic family day out from Holmrook. The small seaside resort of Seascale, again just a few minutes drive away, is the perfect place to combine local history and miles of unspoilt Cumbrian coastline.
