Booking coastal caravans for a seaside holiday in Birchington-on-Sea makes for a cheap UK holiday that doesn’t compromise on enjoyment. Birchington-on-Sea is part of the parish of Birchington on the North Sea coastline of Kent. It’s a well-known tourist destination with a selection of coastal caravan parks and campsites as well as several hotels and bed and breakfasts for those not looking for self-catering accommodation. A medieval village with a 14^th century church and 19^th century manor house, Quex Park, the seaside resort sits between four sandy bays.

 

Minnis Bay is Birchington’s main beach: it’s family-friendly, with a paddling pool, cafes, restaurants and pubs, as well as well-worn walking and cycling routes, and of course perfect for swimming. Three further bays, Grenham Bay, Beresford Gap and Epple Bay, are surrounded by chalk cliffs and various caves. As you might expect, watersports holidays are popular here, and the choice of water sports available includes sailing, windsurfing, speed boating, water-skiing and jet skiing. Wildlife lovers can take advantage of organised boat trips to the Thames Estuary to the west, to observe bird species such as turnstone, and sea-life such as velvet swimming crabs and seals.

 

As well as the local seaside attractions available, Quex House houses the Powel Cotton Museum and is surrounded by beautiful gardens. Heading a little further afield from your holiday accommodation in Birchington, other seaside resort towns such as Herne Bay and Margate vie for your attention, while across the Isle of Thanet you’ll find Ramsgate and Broadstairs, home of the famous folk festival. In fact there are plenty of charming villages and towns to explore locally, and numerous family attractions, including wildlife parks and adventure playgrounds, but for some stunning and historic architecture, fine dining and shopping, head for Canterbury and visit Canterbury Cathedral, or go punting on the River Stour.
